This buddha statue is a replica of the Bamyan Buddha statues(507, 554 AD) that were destroyed by the Taliban on March 2001. This statue was built in memory of those who lost their lives to the Tsunami in December 2004. It is located at Paraliya, Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka. facing the Ocean.
